Asun Álvarez is a writer and translator with an interest in language, history, mythology, and general nerdery, which is why she got herself degrees in linguistics and philosophy. A graduate with Distinction of the MA in Creative Writing at the University of East Anglia and a published poet, Son of the Country is her first novel.

She is currently working on its sequel, The Art of Memory – a heist story set in Shakespeare’s London and Venice, involving a squad of Sephardic crypto-Jews, Inception-like capers in memory palaces, cabbalistic safecracking, and Kit Marlowe as a spy.

She is represented by Ian Drury at Sheil Land Associates.
